Since opening in 1952, CHI St. Alexius Health Garrison has been dedicated to serving the residents of Garrison, ND and the surrounding rural communities. CHI St. Alexius Health includes the Garrison Hospital and the Garrison Family Clinic. CHI St. Alexius Health Garrison includes the services of a 22-bed CAH, a 28-bed skilled nursing facility, an attached rural health clinic, and a newly remodeled emergency department that is available 24 hours a day. We offer many outpatient services, including physical therapy, radiology services, laboratory services, cardiac rehabilitation, and IV treatments.

The hospital president has the responsibility/accountability of every aspect of hospital operations. The President is responsible for leading the strategic initiatives of both the enterprise, service lines, physician enterprise, academic/learner environment, and respective campuses. Responsible for the quality, safety, and experience of our patients, physicians, and learners. Development of meaningful relationships with our community, Creighton University, outside organizations, and referring providers/organizations. Drive operational excellence and positive culture throughout the organization. Deliver strong financial performance for areas of responsibility. Safeguard required compliance with State, Federal and CMS regulations and other credentialing /regulatory organizations.
Responsibilities
Works under the supervision of the CEO of St. Alexius Medical Center. Directs, supervises, and coordinates all activities of Garrison Memorial Hospital, Garrison Family Clinic, the Long Term Care Facility, Community Hospital of Turtle Lake and all satellite clinics. Serves as a member of the Board of Garrison Memorial Hospital Association and Turtle Lake Hospital Association, representing St. Alexius Medical Center in McLean County, and promotes the mission and values of the facility throughout the area.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Has the authority to interview, hire, orient, terminate, promote, train and conduct performance evaluations.
- Assigns day-to-day work activities; direct the functional and technical job performance of team members.
- Allocate and direct staffing needs to meet patient, unit, and department needs, and collaborate with others to ensure overall staffing needs are met.
- Manage performance including setting goals, clarifying job expectations, monitoring performance progress, providing feedback, recognize, developing skills and addressing performance issues related work and our Commitments using corrective action.
- Responsible for overall operations and services delivery at assigned campus(es); direct all administrative, operational processes at the campuses to include support of mission, vision and core values.
- Provide leadership and support to matrixed or assigned Service Line(s) or systems of care working with other Administrative leaders to complement and support the strategies and initiatives of the Service Line or System of Care. Partner with Foundation in the creation and support of a community board.7.
- Participate as a member of the Operations Leadership Team, ELT Strategy Team and other meetings as needed; actively engage with academic leaders and learners to assure a positive academic environment.
- Lead initiatives to assure operational effectiveness and efficiency, including resource allocation and operational process improvement. Assure appropriate resource utilization.
- Develop and enhance Provider relationships. In coordination with Vice President of Patient Care Services, Vice President of Medical Operations, and service line leaders, manage contractual and business relationships with physicians, vendors and Creighton University.
- Actively engage with the community and community organizations to promote strong public relations and to identify/address community needs.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s Degree AND Masters Degree in Business or Hospital Administration
Licensure: Licensure as ND Long Term Care Administrator
