CommonSpirit Health is seeking a Data Integration – Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) Technology & Platforms leader who will oversee CommonSpirit Health’s Data Integration EAI strategic products and technology platforms that sustain with the mission critical EAI systems and services; leveraging EAI functional/technical domain expertise, industry leading techniques and best practices to contribute to the continuous improvement and innovations required to sustain critical EAI technology platforms; supporting strategic management of EAI products, custom software frameworks, platform environments, and participation in operational support and project delivery services to enhance and mature the portfolio of EAI solutions across CommonSpirit Health.


This individual will be a data-driven transformative leader focused on the short and long term success of the Data Integration EAI Technology & Platforms by planning and coordinating the processes required for the implementation and ongoing evolution of products and platforms for real-time, batch, and on-demand API based integration solutions and systems necessary for business operations. In addition to being accountable to IT Data and Analytics / Data Integration direct line Management, the EAI Technology & Platforms leader will directly interface with many CommonSpirit Health IT internal customers along with various EAI product and services vendors.  Responsibilities will include the following:

  • Institutes, maintains, and ensures adequate and accurate EAI Technology Products & Platforms are sustained for all real-time, batch, and on-demand API based integration solutions managed by the Data Integration EAI COE.
  • Oversees the team of EAI technical architects and product specialists that will be responsible for providing product architecture and environment support to all EAI Technology Products & Platforms
  • Responsible for EAI Product Roadmaps, Custom Software Frameworks, Design Standards, Environment Governance, Major Incident Support, Disaster Recovery, and Monitoring Tools for all EAI Technology Platforms
  • Responsible for the daily support of EAI technical issue resolution tied to EAI Technology Products & Platforms, including identification, resolution, escalation, referral and follow up.
  • Responsible for the management of EAI Technology & Platform architecture team including but not limited to staff scheduling, overseeing work assignments and outcomes, annual performance reviews, and managing global services staff.
  • Contributes to the EAI architecture strategic roadmap and implementation recommendations that take into account critical relationships between multiple complex business processes, applications, and system platforms.
  • Participates in the strategic direction and definition the EAI architecture standards, assesses emerging trends and aligns the EAI technology architecture with the overall strategic goals of the business
  • Instills in the EAI Technology & Platform team IT’s commitment to improve patient care and safety and to support the healthcare workers.
  • Responsible for the installation and updates of EAI commercial software and custom EAI solutions including performance and capacity planning along with thorough function product validation testing.
  • Provides training and prepares documentation for EAI Technology & Platforms as needed.
  • Monitors updates to ensure that all EAI software and systems are being utilized and meet overall department/organization goals.
  • Assists in preparing documentation of departmental policies and procedures.
  • Reviews and approves EAI product and environment configurations are in accordance with enterprise security guidelines.
  • May act as project manager / product manager for some EAI product upgrades, interface break-fix changes, net new interface builds, and software acquisition projects to include but not limited to; research, review, monitoring, implementation and user testing.
  • Interacts extensively with and builds strong relationships with vendors, hospital leadership and other IT leaders.
  • Participates in EAI strategy, business case development, and implementation of service provider transitions or insourcing focused on levering best practices for hybrid employee and global services partner based staffing to achieve cost efficient EAI Operational Support, Technology & Platform, and/or Project Services.
  • Responsible for managing the EAI product life cycle, including providing research for possible new EAI product needs, leading product roadmap maintenance, and implementing functionality based on the longer-term EAI vision and strategy for system level Real-Time (HL7), Batch Managed Filed Transfer (MFT), and Application Programming Interface (API) Management based Data Integration solutions
  • Provides system level EAI consultation, solution design, and operational support while building strong alignment and partnerships across many business and IT organization units
  • Participates in evaluate of business initiatives that need innovative EAI solutions to integrate systems across existing and new businesses, mergers & acquisitions, and enterprise-wide system implementations
  • Provides training to EAI staff to enhance the EAI Technology & Platform services goals to increase overall EAI team skills and knowledge of the EAI solutions and best practices.

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree education in IT, preferably with well-rounded major such as computer science, information technology or management information systems (or equivalent work experience)
  • PMP Certification Preferred


  • At least five years’ experience in Healthcare IT
  • At least five years Information Technology Leadership experience
  • 5-10 years of healthcare systems implementation, and/or experience in progressively responsible positions
  • 5 years of relevant technical and business experience required
  • Leadership experience in managing cross-functional teams and influencing senior level management and key stakeholders required Experience managing a large team desired
  • 6 years of subject matter and business experience in Healthcare IT related to EAI Technology, real-time/batch interfaces, and/or applications in a hospital or medical related industry.
  • 3 years of leading and growing teams
  • Leadership experience in managing cross-functional teams and influencing senior level management and key stakeholders
  • Experience leading wide ranging strategic initiatives desired
  • Experience leading program or process creation or improvement initiatives desired
  • Experience with large-scale healthcare IT applications & EAI
  • Significant experience with one or more data integration middleware products and/or technologies such as HL7 interface engine (IBM IIB or Rhapsody preferred), Managed File Trader (Axway B2B MFT, STG Tidal, SFTP/FTP scripting products preferred), API Management (Axway APIM or similar products preferred).
  • Significant experience with infrastructure technology platforms, including Windows/Linux Server platforms, Storage Technologies, Network Technology, and Data Center operations.
  • Experience with ITIL based IT Service Delivery methodologies
  • Knowledge of or experience with Program Management principles
  • Possesses a thorough knowledge and understanding of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures for Enterprise level Operational Support management and facilitating support of highly complex multi-tier runtime environments.

A compensation range of $112,819 - $163,595 is the reasonable estimate that CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
