Responsibilities
  • Provides operational support in addition to evaluation and implementation services for new products, technologies and solutions to address corporate business requirements.
  • Works beyond the routine utilizing specialized knowledge and analysis of multiple variables.
  • Has a comprehensive understanding and skillsets for supported platforms/products and environments.
  • Effort and activities are divided between maintenance and support of existing environments, and implementation tasks.
  • Project assignments can be large in scope but are typically of medium complexity.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to CommonSpirit end users, Business Stakeholders and other members of CommonSpirit ITD
  • Oversee Data Center and MDF support, by normal administration means, break/fix situations, and new installations and/or integrations, all in an effort to grow and maintain the CommonSpirit IT infrastructure.
  • Participate in the planning, installation, maintenance and acceptance of new and updated infrastructure components and infrastructure-based services. Aligns to service expectations, security requirements and other quality standards.
  • Works in collaboration with data center engineering peers to provide backup support.
  • Maintaining inventory and configuration data in HP Asset Management tool.
  • Ensures that operational issues are identified, recorded, monitored and resolved.
  • Configures tools and/or creates scripts to automate the provisioning, testing and deployment of new and changed infrastructure. Leads in ensuring operational procedures and documentation are fit for purpose and kept up to date.
  • Installs/provisions, configures and maintains infrastructure services and components. Provides technical input to optimize performance of IT infrastructure.
  • Plan and implement scheduled site visits to ensure proper maintenance on IT infrastructure equipment is maintained in Data Centers and MDFs.
  • Perform daily production support activities
  • Participate in team on-call rotations.
  • Perform patching and code deployments across all environments
  • Participate in projects associated to the enhancement, upgrade/patching, or implementation of new or existing technology solutions.
  • Participates in support efforts between Enterprise ITD Operations and other CommonSpirit support teams.
  • Conduct performance tuning and troubleshooting
  • Initiate change management requests and adhere to the CommonSpirit ITD Change Management process.
  • Perform source code/versioning management function adhering to technical management guidelines
  • Provide ownership of technical issues within the ITD Operations Team
  • Assist with the design and implementation of a comprehensive monitoring and alerting process across all ITD Operations platforms
  • Assist with strategic planning activities (capacity planning, process improvement, maintenance, upgrade and end-of-life planning, roadmap development)
  • Build new test and production environments on existing or new hardware as required.
  • Identify automation opportunities and implement scripted solutions.
  • Identify technical innovation and process improvement opportunities.
  • Assist with the implementation of a comprehensive and ongoing release management and planning effort.
  • Utilize standard tools and methodology to develop system and support performance metrics.
  • Perform technical mentoring and cross training with other team members.
  • Demonstrate a basic knowledge & expertise with CommonSpirit business processes and routines.

Qualifications
  • BA or BS in Computer Science, Technology, or Business discipline or equivalent experience is required.
  • 3-7 years of professional experience in an IT technical or infrastructure field is required.

Experience – Desktop Automation

  • 3+ years’ experience with software packaging and deployment tools is required
  • 2 + years’ experience working in a large complex networking environment is required
  • 2+ years’ experience with complex Active Directory structures including GPO and GPP Administration is required.
  • 2+ years of advanced experience with scripting languages is required in at least two of the following languages, (AutoIT, VBS, KIX, and or PowerShell)
  • 1+ year designing and implementing small automated solutions to automate basic manual processes. Some solutions need to include utilizing a database.
  • 1+ years of experience in designing and implementing basic Web automated solutions.
  • 3+ years of advanced server patching processes.

Experience – Messaging

  • 4+ years’ experience with Windows Server operating systems is required.
  • 3+ years’ experience in Exchange Support Operations, analysis and design in a large, multi-site IT organization.
  • 1+ year experience with PowerShell.
  • Extensive experience in a large enterprise operating environment supporting 10,000+ users.
  • Experience with SQL server.
  • Experience with Archiving Solution.
  • Messaging MCITP Certification or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with EMC, NetApp, or similar storage system.
  • Experience with load-balancing Exchange messaging components.
  • Experience in an ITIL environment.
  • Experience with BlackBerry Enterprise .Messaging/ActiveSync Support

Experience – Server Automation

  • 3+ years’ experience with software packaging and deployment tools is required
  • 2 + years’ experience working in a large complex networking environment is required
  • 2+ years’ experience with complex Active Directory structures including GPO and GPP Administration is required.
  • 2+ years of advanced experience with scripting languages is required in at least two of the following languages, (AutoIT, VBS, KIX, and or PowerShell)

  • 3+ years’ experience with NAS and/or SAN Storage technologies.
  • 2+ years’ experience with storage networking technologies.

Training – Messaging

  • Messaging MCITP Certification or equivalent experience
  • Ability to develop and organize written documentation and procedures is required.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in determining work and problem resolution priorities and approaches.
  • Strong conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to multi task in a fast paced work environment.
  • Team player will work close in team environment

Special Skills – Messaging

  • Knowledge of VMWare
  • Knowledge of SQL Server
  • Knowledge of storage systems

Special Skills – Storage Engineer

  • Established understanding of common operating systems Windows, Linux
  • Established understanding of Infrastructure and relative technologies.
  • Established understanding of network connectivity and protocols.
  • Established understanding of storage related protocols (ISCSI, NFS, CIFS, NDMP).
  • Established understanding of SAN and NAS storage infrastructures. (Netapp and EMC preferred)
  • Established understanding of storage networking infrastructures (Brocade, Cisco).
  • Established understanding of RAID levels and disk technologies.
