IT Software Engineer
The posted compensation range of $40.75 - $59.09 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. The Software Engineer strives to improve the user experience by implementing and/or enhancing applications of high complexity/enterprise wide cross functional programs or projects. They perform application build and configuration management functions or work directly with Development Engineers by writing technical specification documents for development, perform testing, and/or perform configuration management for the implementation, enhance or upgrade solutions on premise or in a cloud hosted environment.
The Software Engineer acts as an expert in design, configuration and building on multiple projects, engaged in enterprise wide projects. The Software Engineer works on documentation that describe processes and procedures relating to the solution and transition operational support to Technical Analysts.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy robust DevOps solutions using Java, Spring, Angular, and other related technologies.
- Write code and scripts (e.g., Python, PowerShell) to enhance or customize processes, streamlining workflows and improving efficiency.
- Identify areas for process optimization and recommend improvements to enhance the effectiveness of DevOps solutions
- Actively participate in agile ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand-up, sprint review, retrospective) and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Document and demonstrate solutions through clear code, comments, flowcharts, diagrams, and user guides. Effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Conduct thorough testing of DevOps solutions to ensure accuracy, reliability, and scalability. Debug and resolve any issues that arise during testing or production.
- Ensure all implementations comply with organizational policies, industry regulations, and security standards. Implement security measures to protect sensitive data.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to team members. Conduct training sessions to share best practices and knowledge on used tools and techniques.
- Support deployments or troubleshoot production issues and participate in an on-call rotation as needed.
- Data & Analytics: Leverage expertise in Microsoft BI software (SSRS, SSIS, SSAS), Blackbaud CRM SDK (Infinity SDK), and analytics tools (SRSS, PowerBI, Tableau) to analyze data and inform solution development.

Qualifications
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience working in IT as a Software Engineer or equivalent software development role.
- Proficiency in Java, Spring, Angular, and other relevant technologies.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) is a plus.
- Knowledge of process analysis, design, and optimization.
- Understanding of business processes and workflows.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Passion for learning and keeping up-to-date with the latest trends in DevOps technologies.
- Certifications in programming languages or related technologies.
- Experience in a Healthcare environment.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Additional Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience with the Infinity SDK for Blackbaud CRM is preferred.
- 2+ years of experience writing reports for Blackbaud CRM and Blackbaud Raiser's Edge is preferred.
- 2+ years of experience using Brightvine's Data Loader is preferred.
- 2+ years of experience using Zuri's Velocity is preferred.
Skills:
- Technical: .NET, Java, Python, Angular, Spring, scripting languages, Microsoft BI software (SSRS, SSIS, SSAS), Blackbaud CRM SDK (Infinity SDK), analytics tools (SRSS, PowerBI, Tableau).
- Process & Methodology: Agile development methodologies, business process analysis, DevOps principles.
- Communication & Collaboration: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Problem Solving & Analytical: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to identify and implement solutions to complex challenges.
