Responsibilities

The Enterprise Identify Systems Director, under the leadership of the Senior Director Clinical Informatics, directs the development, implementation, and optimization of the Enterprise Identity management  programs for all Dignity Health   Service Areas ( hospitals, Clinics and providers) ; plans, structures and monitors the Dignity Health Identity management solution in cooperation with Dignity Health Corporate Leaders; develops, directs, and innovates program implementation and management to provide data integrity to the Identity  which plays a significant role in patient care and safety, all  provider identity,  all clinic and downstream systems  and impacts financial performance and administrative efficiency of the organization; collaborates with other strategic partners to promote consumer awareness in the importance of patient/provider identity, database integrity, and personal privacy; develops and supports EMPI best practices and models and provides leadership in the facilities and in the healthcare industry to ensure complete and accurate Identity of patient and provider.

Provides leadership and strategic direction for Identity Management strategies involving data integrity to the EMPI systems relating to patient care and safety/provider identify and financial services.

Provides direct strategic and operational input regarding requirements and change management to support implementation of Dignity Health Identity Management initiatives.

Oversight of related projects in collaboration with Enterprise Hospital leadership, E.H.R. Alliance Clinical and Revenue Cycle staff as well as Dignity Health Corporate Services. Is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the Dignity Health Identity Management.

Is involved in developing, monitoring and optimizing Service Level Agreements (SLA) with Dignity Health Service Area Leadership and Third Party Vendors conforming to the Enterprise standards and practices, and is responsible for accurately reporting duplication percentages rates to the Leadership.

Collaborates directly with the Corporate Initiate Implementation Team to determine efforts needed to run EMPI data, perform gap analysis, travel to sites and perform reviews of the data within each Service Area/Facility managed.

Consults with Identity Management vendor(s) to understand product development, roadmaps and implementation for future endeavors. Works with vendor(s) to influence/optimize systems to meet Dignity Health Corporate Goals.

Conducts ongoing technology assessment of clinical information systems and products related to the Identity Management while identifying and meeting business and EHR needs, financial accuracy, and potential external collaborations. Perform quality data assessments to ensure the technology is meeting regulatory requirements. Involvement with downstream systems and vendors that use EMPI data; work collaboratively with vendors and business owners to develop Dignity Health Standard Protocols (SOP).

In collaboration with all Service Area/Hospital Leadership and Dignity Health EMPI Implementation Team, responsible for identifying the end user needs of the Identity Management system as it pertains to education, training, programs and services in the area of computer skills and competencies in the use of electronic tools for person care, quality management, care management, revenue cycle, clinical resource management, and Performance Excellence initiatives. Responsible for assessing training and development needs of Identity Management staff in relation to EMPI systems, products and data integrity. Collaboratively develops curriculum for Dignity Health staff as it pertains to Identity Management Services, design, implement, and maintain programs to address needs.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Health Information Management and/or combination of education and professional experience (required)
  • Master’s degree in healthcare (preferred).
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience with system wide integrated EMPI solution(s), electronic health record, health information systems healthcare operations
  • Registered Health Information Management- RHIA/RHIT
  • 5+ years working in a multi-facility healthcare organization that includes acute care, ambulatory care and physician offices
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in management level position in a hospital or healthcare system (required).
  • Work style that demonstrates professionalism and fosters credibility by developing loyalty, teamwork, and respect with staff and colleagues at all levels within the Dignity Health organization.
  • Aptitude for problem-solving involving complicated, interrelated, and sometimes conflicting components requiring careful observation, pattern identification, and strict adherence to process sequencing. Ability to successfully lead real-time troubleshooting efforts and conduct post-event root cause analyses.
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills. Ability and willingness to tactfully and firmly focus attention and remediation efforts upon difficult issues and obstacles impeding progress.
  • Highly organized, proactive work orientation, ability to smoothly coordinate the work of staff and oneself.
  • Strong ability to calmly manage simultaneous priorities, comfortable collaborating with colleagues at all levels, skillful working as a facilitator between multiple parties, able to maintain clear focus and work successfully under stressful conditions.

  • Manage department’s after hour’s pager if applicable and as needed.

A compensation range of $1300,000 - $169,000 is the reasonable estimate that CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
