Overview

Work in the heart of #humankindess at CHI St. Alexius Health Dickinson. We are seeking a part-time Chaplain to work at our critical access hospital. As part of a Catholic Health organization, the Chaplain is responsible for integrating spiritual care into all aspects of the organization and participates as an integral member of the patient care team. Primary responsibilities also include providing spiritual support to patients and their loved ones, to staff and volunteers and serving as spiritual liaison to the wider community.

Responsibilities

What you'll do...

  • Provides spiritual support in emergency situations to patients and families.
  • On-call rounds made to patients when requested. Provision of sacraments and anointings.
  • Responds to crises such as Code Blues, Traumas and deaths as needed.
  • Coordinates care with local clergy.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Post-Secondary training with pre-requisite experience.
  • Two (2) years of health care work. 

  • One (1) quarter of clinical pastoral or its equivalent.

  • Knowledge of medical moral Theology and interpretation of the Ethical and Religious Directive of CHI.

  • Must have basic computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two (2) years of pastoral work.
  • NACC OR ACPE.
  • Degree in Theology, Biblical Studies, Psychology, Counseling or Social Work.
