Responsibilities

The Physician Assistant is responsible for assisting the physician throughout the intra-operative phase, as well as contributing to the delivery of quality patient care by working with other surgical team members during the preoperative and immediate postoperative phases.

  •  Provides skilled assistance to the surgeon.
  •  Assists with individual operating room set up.
  •  Assists with positioning, prepping and draping the patient.
  •  Communicates with the surgeon and health care team regarding patient’s condition.
  •  Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Graduate of a Physician Assistant training Program

Experience:

  • 3-5 years clinical nursing practice in an acute care setting required.
  • 1-3 years previous experience as a NP in surgery setting required. 

Certification or Licensure:

  • State PA License required
  • BLS required.
