Responsibilities
Completes hourly rounding and documents hourly rounding consistently.
Completes all necessary paperwork for durable medical supplies.
Offloads ambulance patients in cooperation with physician and RN's. Communicates patient status/plan with RN, Physician and other staff.
Completes EDM screening, preregistration, applies patient armband accurately and within policy.
Meets or exceeds threshold for ED corporate goals. 80% of patients will have vital signs completed within 15 min of arrival. 90% of patients will have sepsis screening completed within 30 min of arrival. 75% of patients will see a provider (physician) within 30 minutes.
Completes walking rounds at change of shift. Participates in care conferences if involved in patients care with any patients held in the department over 24 hours.
Meets at least 4 emergency department owned MOR indicators: ASA on arrival, blood culture prior to antibiotics, antibiotics within 6 hours for pneumonia patients, PCI within 90 minutes, ER length of stay indicators.
Observe, record, and report to nurse, physician assistant physician the patient's condition or injury, the treatment provided, and reactions to drugs and treatment.
Qualifications
Minimum:
High School Diploma/GED
AZ CEP (Arizona Certified Emergency Paramedic)
America Heart Association ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) within six (6) months of hire, PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) within six (6) months of hire
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire
Preferred:
Direct patient care experience
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program Provider), NREMT-P (National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians Paramedic)
