Responsibilities

Position Summary:

The incumbent in this position is responsible for providing the leadership for all education and training activities for Mercy Home Health and Mercy Hospice. Responsibilities include active participation in the staff hiring of new clinical staff and primary responsibility for orientation, and evaluation of all new clinical staff, and support for the orientation and training of all non-clinical staff. This position directs all ongoing training activities in the agency and develops and monitors the orientation.

The incumbent will be intricately involved in the training of new staff to our electronic charting system (Netsmart), and will be crucial in helping us transition to Home Care Home Base (HCHB), a new electronic charting system in 2020. The incumbent will also support Woodland and Sierra Nevada Home Health agencies.

Principal Duties and Accountabilities:

  • Establish effective scheduling to ensure all standing commitments are met. Manages workflow and evaluates effectiveness of assignments.
  • Provides high quality, effective clinical education services.
  • Writes and obtains approval for any policies or standard operating procedures related to Clinical Education functions.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Current CA RN licensure
  • Minimum of three (3) years education/healthcare-related experience
  • Current AHA BLS

Preferred:

  • Hospice and Home Health supervisory experience
  • Experience with Healthcare information systems in a home health setting (Netsmart, Cerner)
  • Strong background in reports & data management 
  • BSN
