Role:
The Nurse Resident observes and takes part in the clinical and didactic portion of the Residency training program and successfully completes all assignments and requirements of the program. Clinical training assignments are under the direction and supervision of the registered nurse preceptor.
This job is responsible for providing a wide variety of professional nursing services which focus on the provision of quality patient care consistent with Franciscan Health System (FHS) standards & values, applicable regulatory requirements and scope of practice for the nursing profession. Work also includes developing, implementing and assessing the patient plan of care during time of stay in collaboration with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and the patient/family. An incumbent is engaged in direct patient care, including assessing, planning, coordinating, evaluating and delegating work to members of the patient care team, and for providing education and consultation with patients, families, physicians.
Medical Surgical Nurse

You will see a variety of complex patient medical conditions and surgeries. As a Medical Surgical Nurse, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide safe, quality care for our most vulnerable patients. Medical Surgical will keep you on your toes!
What you’ll do:
Provide comprehensive and compassionate care for Medical Surgical level patients, which can range from Heart Failure and Pneumonia to Hip Fractures and General Abdominal Surgeries
Develop and implement nursing care plans. Assess and monitoring patients
Administer medications and treatments
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team that includes but not limited to, Physicians, Care Management, and Therapy Services.

Qualifications
Education & Experience:
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
License & Certification:
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse issued by the Washington State Board of Nursing.
Current Healthcare BLS Certification.
Specialty certification, as appropriate to the assigned work unit, is strongly preferred.
