Responsibilities

The Orthopedic Tech Coordinator provides clerical support and maintains the department in a clean and orderly condition according to prescribed procedures. Performs casting splinting traction applications and various soft good applications. Works with providers and nursing staff to coordinate ongoing orthopedic needs. Assists providers with wound care. Manages supplies and

equipment needed in the orthopedic area. Assists with activities as required within the clinic. Provides sterilization of equipment if assigned.


Qualifications

Minimum:

  • One year minimum experience in a health related clerical position OR one years experience in general hospital setting
  • Must have legible handwriting knowledge of spelling grammar and basic arithmetic
  • Demonstrated skills in dealing with the public and telephone courtesy
  • Self motivated; able to initiate tasks as instructed
  • Able to do work in spite of frequent interruptions
  • Ability to read English and able to read computer/monitor screens and computer printouts
  • Able to perform mathematical calculations
  • High level of concentration and attention to detail
  • Ability to work with a team and prioritize work

Preferred:

  • Basic computer skills with Outlook Lawson Access and Dignity Health Applications
  • Certificationsin medical terminology
  • Certified Orthopedic Tech or advance Orthopedic studies
  • AHA BLS/CPR
