This position contributes to the fulfillment of the CHI Health mission and vision by planning, organizing, implementing and directing resources in assigned areas of centralized nursing practice and education.  Serves as a role model for ethical management behavior and promotes and awareness and understanding of positive ethical and moral principles consistent with the Mission, Vision, and Values of CHI Health.


Responsibilities

Division Manager-Clinical Education

  1. Has the authority to interview, hire, orient, terminate, promote, train and conduct performance evaluations.
  2. Manage performance including: setting goals, clarifying job expectations, monitoring performance progress, providing feedback, recognizing, developing skills and addressing performance issues related to work and our commitments using corrective action.
  3. Assigns day to day work activities; directs the functional and technical job performance of team members; professionally communicates with team members. 
  4. Provides support and leadership for projects and initiatives to support onboarding and clinical education and training. 
  5. Supports nursing practice throughout the division, providing direction in evidence based practice, research, and overall strategies. 
  6. Participates in interdisciplinary meetings and projects (e.g. with pharmacy, therapy, quality, etc.) to ensure best practice, exceptional care of patients across the Division. 
  7. Monitors and assesses current operations/identifies opportunities and provides recommendations to stakeholders for performance/process improvements initiatives; implements approved changes and ensures that staff receive the necessary training to perform in concert with performance improvement initiatives.
  8. Interprets, and monitors compliance with, applicable internal/external legal and regulatory agreements, standards, requirements; keeps abreast of changing regulatory requirements/regulations and competitive industry practices impacting assigned functions, as well as organizational initiatives/changes with potential to impact current operations; monitors impact on existing activities and identifies/implements effective response/solution while maintaining acceptable service levels and work quality.   
  9. Collaborates with leadership providing detailed information and updates related to department operations. 
  10. Supports daily operations of department productivity and budget. 
  11. Ensures optimal utilization of department resources within guidelines set forth through capital and operational budget planning.
  12. Participates in annual budget planning and administration relative to assigned responsibilities; monitors work schedules to control overtime and/or premium pay; monitors/approves expenditures within defined scope of responsibility; explains variances and addresses in a timely manner; keeps higher level management informed of issues with potential for budgetary impact. 
  13. Other duties as assigned by management. 

Qualifications

Baccalaureate in Nursing

Master’s degree or completion of program within 12 months of start date

Current Registered Nurse License in Nebraska or Iowa, Nebraska and Iowa are compact states, so license must be held in the state of your residence.
BLS certification is required upon hire. Acceptable credentialing bodies and certifications include the following: American Heart Association: Basic Life Support.
