Responsibilities
Position Summary:
As our Director of Security and EMS at Northridge Hospital Medical Center, you will lead security and emergency management operations, to protect the safety and security of patients, visitors, staff and physicians.  You will need to draw upon your expertise and knowledge-base, to evaluate the effectiveness of our programs, and develop and implement the Security Management Plan and Emergency Management Plan, ensuring staff is always at the ready.  You will also coordinates ongoing Hazardous Vulnerability Assessments (HVAs) for changes that could affect the likelihood of an emergency, as well as those that could affect response efforts and details of plan implementation.  You will prepares, disseminate, and follow up on security assessments / HVAs. You will be responsible for monitoring existing security systems and technologies for possible security leaks or fraud, and help with the development and monitoring of physical and electronic measures. In addition, you will design and conduct security awareness and emergency training programs, ensuring staff are prepared for whatever comes.

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience: 
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Criminal Justice, Safety Administration, Emergency Management, or a combination of education and/or job related experience required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years experience managing a Security, Safety and Emergency Program, two (2) of which must have been in a healthcare organization required.
  • Two (2) years of active participation in a healthcare/community-based emergency management program required.
Required Licensure: 
  • Current driver's license required.
  • Security Guard card required.

Required Training: 

  • Knowledge of Life Safety, TJC CMS and OSHA regulations and standards required.
  • Knowledge of Hazmat WMD First Receiver Operations and Decontamination for healthcare required.
  • Completion of NIMS compliant ICS 100HC, 200HC, 700 & 800 courses or state equivalent required.
  • Workplace violence training within 6 months of employment required.
  • CPR BLS & HA Certification within 90 days of employment required.
